APPLYING TO SENECA
If you’re returning to education, there are three different application categories you may fit into.
1. You have your high school diploma with the majority of senior credits at the advanced, general, college prep, university prep or university/college prep levels. If you’re thinking of a degree program, you’ll need six Grade12 credits at the university, university/college or OAC level.
If you have these requirements, skip over the next paragraph and keep reading.
2. You’re 19 years old or older and you don’t have a high school diploma, read Information for Mature Students.
3. You already have a partial or complete post-secondary education.

Once you’ve chosen your program(s) you should check:
- if you have the necessary credits

- program availability
After you’ve made your decision, go to the Ontario Colleges website, which handles the applications for all the colleges in the province.
They’ll ask you to:
- create an account
- select your program
- pay the $85 application fee (for programs starting in Sept 2009 and later, the fee is $95)
The site will keep you updated on your application and provided information on forwarding transcripts, if necessary.
If you’re applying for a program that starts in September, apply by February 1 for the best chance of getting in.
